Sammy answers Sun Tint questions

Hi! My name is Sammy Haertl.

I’m a very caring and extremely loving Golden Retriever. I’ve been involved with our family business, Sun Tint, since… well, really since I was a just a Puppy. I’m in charge of Public Relations… I’m the “PR” Man around here. I’m here to answer your questions, share my experiences and educate people about window film and clear paint protection. I’m also gonna tell you how great our company, Sun Tint, is too. (Gotta do my part to make sure Mom & Dad keep buying the “good” bones…). Woof!

Does the weather affect tint installation?

Well, let’s put it this way… you know how the Mailman works, right? Well, like the Mailman, we’re able to install tint in just about any type of weather… the only thing that slows us down is if the temperature stays below freezing for any length of time. Oh, or if there is a hurricane or tornado, that might slow our guys down a little. Luckily, since we live in wonderful Austin, Texas, the weather generally never affects tint installation. Isn’t that great?!?!

Hey Sammy, is my skin at risk simply from riding in a car?
My Mom found the following article at the American Skin Care Foundation website and I wanted to share it with all of my favorite humans: http://www.skincancer.org/press-releases/increased-car-time-puts-people-at-risk-for-skin-cancer.html Did you know even us dogs can get skin cancer?!?! So, please… get with Sun Tint and let us help get your skin protected! Woof!

Do you have a “nose” for any good gift ideas, Sammy?
If you’re looking for the most “woofiest” gift for that someone very special, then follow your bloodhound instincts like me and give a Sun Tint Gift Certificate. They’re available for any service we offer like Window Tint Installation Packages, Paint Protection Film Installation or in any denomination you want. That special someone is sure to “lick your entire face” with appreciation!!!

Why do I see little bubbles, blotchiness & foggy areas in my window tint?

Hmmmm… sounds to me like you just recently had window tint installed! This is absolutely normal. My humans use lots of water as this activates the films’ adhesive and allows them to move the film on your window to just the right position for a beautiful fit. They squeegee to remove as much water as possible but its impossible to remove it all. But don’t worry, the film is microscopically porous and the moisture will evaporate right our through the film. The more heat the film gets then the more quickly this process takes place.

Sammy, what about glare… will window tint eliminate glare on my TV or Monitor?
Oh man… there’s nothing better than curling up on the couch during the day a watching something good on TV… but don’t tell Mom & Dad that I was up on the furniture!!! The good new is window film can greatly reduce glare; how much depends on the film you choose. But because it still lets in some natural light, glare won’t be completely blocked. That’s okay too because curling up in the sunshine is another favorite of mine!!!
Will window tinting affect my vehicle’s electronics?
Some films can and others will not. So, come see us at Sun Tint and my people can help you find a window tint package that’s just right for you! Woof!!!

Some Paint Protection Film packages look cloudy and scratch easily… What do you know about that, Sammy?
Essentially, there are 2 different types of paint protection film available: coated and non-coated. My people here at Sun Tint, would love to help you decide which type is best for you and your driving habits. So, if you want more information, please call them or better yet, stop by our shop! That way… you can pet me!!!

What do I need to know about window tint & dot matrix?
Rrrrrrrrrrrrr… dot matrix… that really gets me on guard. Here at Sun Tint, my people always strive to provide our customers with a beautiful window film installation. When the vehicle has a large dot matrix area, it can be quite the formidable opponent when installing window film on a rear windshield. We have a few techniques in our arsenal that we use to combat this “doggone” situation. What’s important is that my people think it’s best to look at each vehicle and customer on an individual basis as we have found each of our techniques to be satisfactory in different situations. So, if dot matrix is a concern for you, be sure and ask about it… I’ll be here for you to pet while you get more information!
