"Meet the Owners"

Russell Haertl started his professional career in the restaurant/service industry.  Trained by his Father, a German immigrant, he believes everything should be based on quality customer service.  While working as a Sous Chef at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston, he began working in the window film industry as a means to make some extra money.  He fell in love with Austin after a visit then promptly moved here and started Sun Tint in 1982.  The plan was to sell the business after establishing it then move to Europe for Culinary School.  Well, the window film business was good and he decided to stay.

Denise Haertl moved to Austin in 1990 to attend The University of Texas.  She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design and began working in the design field upon graduating.  While working her way through school, she’s had numerous jobs mainly in Office Management, Accounts Payable & Receivable and Sales.  She's "officially" been with Sun Tint since 2002 but has handled the finances since 1999.
